Roe Deer Capreolus capreolus
This species visit the Kinson Common at varying times in the year and are occasionally observed on site towards dusk. In all cases, it only reveals itself when disturbed by human activity.
In the summer the rump is buff coloured. The tail is small. In the winter period their coat is greyer and thicker to protect them from the elements. Kids are always heavily spotted and to date, none have been recorded on site. Antlers are upright and very short.
Food. Leaves, shoots, twigs and berries.
Signs. Black Droppings which are oval in shape. Tracks in mud where they cross over the natural streams.
Notes. A loud bark.
