Conocephalus discolor

This special and very localised Bush-cricket is well established on the Common, especially in the marshy region above Pepin`s Pond. This insect is certainly a very quick mover amongst the rushes and sedges where it lives.

Our illustration clearly shows a female of this species with an almost straight reddened ovipositor. This distinguishes it from the commoner C. dorsalis, which has a curved one.
