This species is making a welcome comeback to the grasslands on the Kinson Common after many years of being unrecorded. Despite looking like a wasp, it is completely harmless, unless of course you are a grasshopper! This spider builds a web suspended between two upright plants. July and August are two good months to look for this species and early morning exploration before the heat of the day makes the webs easier to observe.
