Paranthrene tabaniformis

It is a day-flying moth which mimics a hornet and is left alone by
predators. its wing are mostly devoid of scales and have a transparent appearance. Larvae feed on poplars and take two years to mature into an adult imago. On warm bright sunny days it readily visits all types of flowers in flower locally.
