This is a true gem which florishes in well established colonies on the Common. It grows in acidic conditions and its colour range extends from almost pure white to the typical form ilustrated. In the lower regions, when this wonderful species is in full bloom during the month of June, those visiting the site often refer to this area as being, "The Orchid valley".
