Green-veined White Artogeia napi
This locally abundant butterfly is often mistaken for a Small White which causes problems in gardens where crops such as cabbage is grown. This species feeds on cruciferae, such as wild mustards.
Our illustration clearly shows a white tip on each antenna which the Small White does not have. There are two or more generations, especially in a hot summer like the one we enjoyed in 2003. This photograph was taken on the 6th September.
