The Collared Dove is now well established in Britain after being first recorded in Lincolnshire in 1952. It is is a permanent resident on the Common and in Kinson generally.
The plumage is grey-brown above and pale grey below. Its long tail is marked black and white beneath. On the back of its neck is has an easily seen black and white half-collar
Haunt. All wooded areas around the Common, also open country.
Nest. The nest is built high up in a tree and is made from twigs and stems.
Eggs. 2 eggs are laid from March to September. The eggs are white.
Food. Grain, weed-seeds, fruit and berries.
Notes. A distinctive "coo, coo-oo, cuk".
