On the Kinson Common it often seen alone or in pairs and it is present on the nature reserve throughout the year. Being a black and very bold bird, it is easy to recognise.Haunt. Poole Lane Meadows, Poole Lane Heights and Blanchard`s Copse.
Nest. Always high up in a tree, sometimes an oak tree. The nest is made from carefully selected twigs.
Eggs. 4-5 are laid in April or May. Eggs have been laid in nests on the Kinson Common as early as March. The eggs are pale Bluish-green in colour and are blotched with brown.
Food. Insects and grubs, worms, wild fruit, seeds, carrion, animals,birds and their eggs.
Notes. Carrion Crows have a deep croaking call which is unmistakable.
