This species visits the Kinson Common from the Continent only during the winter period. It is often in the company of siskins and goldfinches. In appearance it resembles a linnet. Its plumage is streaked-brown. Adult birds have a red forehead and a small black chin. Haunt. Anywhere where birches grow. A good place to observe them is around the Central Bog region. Food. birch seed, weed seeads, willow and conifer seeds.
Notes. Sometimes a continuous twittering.
