Fieldfares visit the Common during the winter period in small flocks. It is a boldly marked thrush. The grey head and rump are easy to distinguish from other thrushes. Its back is chestnut-brown and the breast is covered with darker markings. Dark brown colouration is clearly visible on the wings and the tail.
Haunt. Open country around the Common. It regularly visits Poole Lane meadows.
Food. Available worms and insects, also wild berries.
Notes. A distinctive "chack".
